Northlight Sunspots.

Northlight sunspotsHere is the set of North Light Sun Spots in use in the Museo Popol Vuh, Universidad Francisco Marroquin. These lights were sent to the FLAAR photo studio for evaluation. A basic set consists of three lights and power unit. Since we will test a complete studio setup, Calumet also provided a set of Mathews grips (one of the Sun Spots is shown mounted at the left).

Full tests, reviews, and product comparisons are on-going. In the meantime, you can get more information at northlightproducts.com.

The units are light weight, well constructed, and clearly designed by a person who has experience in recognizing what the busy professional photographer needs in the studio.

Since I do most of my photography on location I especially liked the convenient portable size of these lights. We have used these lights in Guatemala and in Honduras, to photograph orchids and archaeological artifacts.

The lights are good for any kind of digital photography. We have used these North Light Sun Spots with the BetterLight and with a Leaf Valeo 22 medium format camera (Mamiya AFD).
